The 100% Nebbiolo grapes used to make Faset Sforzato di Valtellina are grown at a vineyard at Tirano, about 700 metres above sea level.
The name – Fasèt – derives from the dialect word for “fazoletto” or “handkerchief”, referring to the small plots of terraced land between drystone walls on which Valtellina vines are grown.
Faset Sforzato di Valtellina is ideal for serving with traditional Valtellina foods: cheeses and cold cuts, game and red meats. It can also be laid down for over 10 years.
